Unit 20 Mommy Devotions: Fiery Furnace
What God will be able to Save You?
Daniel 3:15 “But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to save you from my hand?”
With the current state of politics and the cultural anti-Christian climate, it’s easy to let fear take hold. “What kind of country will my children grow up in?” “What will happen if we continue to stand for the Truth in the Bible?”
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego clearly were forced to wrestle through these questions in some very real ways.
And King Nebuchadnezzar asked the question that Satan whispers to us now: “What God will be able to save you from my hand?”
With the story of the fiery furnace, we are shown the answer.
Our God. That’s who.
Our God is the kind of God that allows the fire to be kindled…
Allows the proclamation to be made…
Allows His children to be thrown into the fire…
And miraculously delivers his children from that fire.
No one, not even Jesus, anticipates adversity without some apprehension. But we can also foresee what God will allow with confidence that He is our true protector and deliverer and can save even from the flames!
Prayer:
God, raise up my children to be men and women of confidence. Confident because they have found you faithful to watch over and protect. Men and women who will follow you no matter the cost.
Help me to model for them a walk that puts nothing before my love for you. Let my resolve to walk in your ways be strong. Thank you for your grace that strengthens us when our faith is weak!
